This error message may occur if you used “special characters” when adding your first and/or last name to your NYC ID account.
In order to avoid this error message, you must complete the following:
- Click on "Manage Account" on the CAPS Online home page
- Log in to your NYC ID account.
- Remove any special characters such as hyphens or accented letters such as ñ or á from your first and last name.
- Click save changes.
