This error message may occur while attempting to log in to CAPS Online.
If you receive this error message, you should:
- Verify that you are using an email address (not a username) in the "Email Address" box (Image 1.1)
- Verify you are using the email address that you used to create your NYC ID (Image 1.1)
- Double-check that you are using the correct password. If you've forgotten your password, click "forgot password" and follow the instructions to reset it. (Image 1.1)
- Disable the 2-Step Verification from your NYCID if it is present - you will not be able to log in to CAPS Online if the 2-Step Verification/MFA is enabled (image 1.2).
